iha hi tāvad bhāmahodbhaṭaprabhṛtayaścirantanālaṅkārakārāḥ pratīyamānamarthe vācyopaskārakatayālaṅkārapakṣanikṣitpaṃ manyante / tathāhi-paryāyoktāprastutapraśaṃsāsamāsoktyākṣepavyājastutyupameyopamānanvayādau vastumātraṃ gamyamānaṃ vācyopaskārakatvena 'svasiddhaye parākṣepaḥparārthe svasamarpaṇam' iti yathāyogaṃ dvividhayā bhaṅgyā pratipāditaṃ taiḥ / rudraṭenāpi bhāvālaṅkāro dvidhoktaḥ / rūpakadīpakāpahnutitulyayogitādāvupamādyalaṅkāro vācyopaskārakatvenoktaḥ / utprekṣā tu svayameva pratīyamānā kathitā / rasavatpreyaḥprabhṛtau tu rasabhāvādirvācyaśobhāhetutvenoktaḥ /
vāmanena tu sādṛśyanibandhanāyā lakṣaṇāya vakroktyalaṅkāratvaṃ bruvatā kaściddhvanibhedo 'laṅkāratayaivoktaḥ / kevalaṃ guṇaviśiṣṭapadaracanātmikā rītiḥ kāvyātmakatvenoktā / udbhaṭādibhistu guṇālaṅkārāṇāṃ prāyaśaḥ sāmyameva sūcitam / viṣayamātreṇa bhedapratipādanāt / saṃghaṭanādharmatvena ceṣṭeḥ /
vakroktijīvitakāraḥ punarvaidagdhyabhaṅgībhaṇitisvabhāvāṃ bahuvidhāṃ vakroktimevaprādhānyātkāvyajīvitamuktavān / vyāpārasya prādhānyaṃ ca [kāvyasya] pratipede / abhidhānaprakāraviśeṣā eva cālaṅkārāḥ / satyapi tribhede pratīyamāne vyāpārarūpā bhaṇitireva kavisaṃrambhagocaraḥ / upacāravakratādibhiḥ samasto dhvaniprapañcaḥ svīkṛtaḥ /
bhaṭṭanāyakena tu vyaṅgyavyāpārasya prauḍhoktyābhyupagatasya kāvyaṃśatvaṃ bruvatā nyagbhāvitaśabdārthasvarūpasya vyāpārasyaiva prādhānyamuktam /
dhvanikāraḥ punarabhidhātātparyalakṣaṇākhyavyāpāratrayottīrṇasya dhvananadyotanādiśabdābhidheyasya vyañjanavyāpārasyāvaśyābhyupagamyatvād vyāpārasya ca vākyārthatvābhāvād vākyārthasyaiva ca vyāṅgyarūpasya guṇālaṅkāropaskartavyatvena prādhānyād viśrāntidhāmatvādātmatvaṃ sidhdāntitavān / vyāpārasya viṣayamukhena svaruṇpratilambhāt tatprādhānyena prādhānyāt svarūpeṇa vicāryatvābhāvād viṣayasyaiva samagrabharasahiṣṇutvam / tasmād viṣaya eva vyaṅgyanāmā jīvitatvena vaktavyaḥ,yasya guṇālaṅkārakṛtacārutvaparigrahasābhrājyam / rasādayastu jīvitabhūtā nālaṅkāratvenavācyāḥ / alaṅkārāṇāmupaskārakatvād,rasādīnāṃ ca prādhānyenopaskāryatvāt / tasmād vyaṅgya eva vākyārthībhūtaḥ kāvyajīvitamityeṣa eva pakṣo vākyārthavidāṃ sahṛdayānāmāvarjakaḥ /
yattu vyaktivivekakāro vācyasya pratīyamānaṃ prati liṅgatayā vyañjanasyānumānāntarbhāvamākhyat tad vācyasya pratīyamānena saha tādāpmyatadutpattyabhāvādavicāritābhidhānam /
astiṃ tāvad vyaṅgyaniṣṭo vyañjanavyāpāraḥ / tatra vyaṅgyasya prādhānyāprādhānyābhyāṃ dhvaniguṇībhūtavyaṅgyākhyau dvau kāvyabhedau / vyaṅgyasyāsphuṭatve 'laṅkārattvena citrākhyaḥ kāvyabhedastṛtīyaḥ / tatrottamo dhvaniḥ / tasya lakṣaṇābhidhāmūlatvenāvivakṣitavācyavivakṣitānyaparavācyavivakṣitānyaparavācyākhyau dvau bhedau / ādyo 'pyarthāntarasaṃkramasaṃsalakṣyakramitavācyātyāntatiraskṛtavācyatvena dvividhaḥ / dvitīyo 'pyasaṃlakṣyakramasaṃlakṣyakramavyaṅgyatayā dvividhaḥ / lakṣaṇāmūlaḥ śabdaśaktimūlo vastudhvaniḥ,asaṃlakṣyakramavyaṅgyaḥ arthaśaktimūlo rasādidhvaniḥ / saṃlakṣyakramavyaṅgyaḥ śabdārthobhayaśaktimūlo vastudhvaniralaṅkāradhvaniśceti / tatra rasādidhvaniralaṅkāramañjaryāṃ darśitaḥ, kāvyasya śṛṅgārapradhānatvāt / śiṣṭastu yathāvasaraṃ tatraiva vibhaktaḥ /

abhedasya prādhānyādbhedasya vastutaḥ sadbhāvaḥ / anyatrānyāvāpa āropaḥ / tasya viṣayaviṣayyavaṣṭabdhatvādviṣayasyāpahnave 'pahnutiḥ / anyathā tu viṣayiṇā viṣayasya rūpavataḥ karaṇādrūpakam / sādharmye tvanugatameva / yadāhuḥ- 'upamaiva turobhūtabhedā rūpakamiṣyate' iti āropādabhede 'dhyavasāyaḥ prakṛṣyate iti paścāttanmūlālaṅkāravibhāgaḥ /
idaṃ tu niravayavaṃ sāvayavaṃ paramparitamiti trividham / ādyaṃ kevalaṃ māvārūpakañcate dvidhā / dvitīyaṃ samastavastuviṣayamekadeśavivarti ceti dvidhaiva / tṛtīyaṃ śliṣṭaśabdanibandhanatvena dvividhaṃ satpratyekaṃ kevalamālārūpakatvāccaturvidham / tadevamaṣṭau rūpakabhedāḥ / anye tū pratyekaṃ vākyoktasamāsoktādibhedāḥ saṃbhavanti te 'nyato draṣṭavyāḥ /
kṣitibhṛta ityatra śliṣṭaṃ padam /
atra kṣmāsauvidalla iti paramparitamapyekadeśavivarti / evamādayo 'nye 'pi bhedā leśataḥ sūcitā eva /
idaṃ vaidharmyeṇāpi dṛśyate /
atra cāropyamāṇasya dharmitvādāviṣṭaliṅgasaṃkhyātve 'pi kvacitsvato 'saṃbhavatsaṃkhyāyogasyāpi viṣayasaṃkhyātvam pratyekamāropāt /
ityatra niyatasaṃkhyākakāryaviśeṣotthāpito garalārthaprabhāvito viṣaśabde śleṣa eva / jaladabhujagajamiti rūpakasādhakamiti pūrve siddhatvābhāvānna tannicanvanaṃ viṣaśabde śliṣṭaśabdaṃ paramparitamiti śleṣa evātretyāhuḥ /

āropyamāṇaṃ rūpake prakṛtopayogitvābhāvātprakṛtoparañjakatvenaiva kevalenānvayaṃ bhajate pariṇāme tu prakṛtātmatayā āropyamāṇasyopayoga iti prakṛtamāropyamāṇarūpatvena pariṇamiti / āgamānugamavigamakhyātyabhāvātsāṃkhyīyapariṇāmavaisakṣaṇyam / tasya sāmānādhikaraṇyavaiyadhikaraṇyaprayogād dvaividhyam /
atra saumittrimaittrī prakṛtā āropyamāṇasamānādhikaraṇātararūpatvena pariṇatā / ātarasya maittrīrūpatayā prakṛte upayogāt / tadatra yathā samāsoktāvāronyamāṇaṃ prakṛtopayogi taccāropaviṣayātmatayā tatra sthitam, ata eva tatra tadvyavahārasamāropaḥ evamihāpi jñeyam, kevalaṃ tatra viṣayasyaiva prayogaḥ, viṣayiṇo gamyamānatvāt / iha tu dvayorapyabhidhānam, tādātmyāt tu tayoḥ pariṇāmitvam /
rājasaṃghaṭane tūpāyanamucitam / taccātra vacorūpamiti vacasāṃ vyadhikaraṇopāyanarūpatvena pariṇāmaḥ /

'abhedaprādhānye āropa ityeva / viṣayaḥ prakṛto 'rtaḥ, yadbhittitvenāprakṛtaḥ saṃdihyate / aprakṛte saṃdehe viṣayo 'pi saṃdihyata eva / tena prakṛtāprakṛtagatatvena kavipratibhotthāpite saṃdehe saṃdehālaṅkāraḥ' /
sa ca trividhaḥ / śuddho niścayagarbho niścayāntaśca / śuddho yatra saṃśaya eva paryavasānam /
niścayagarbho yaḥ saṃśayopakramo niścayamadhyaḥ saṃśayāntaśca /
niścayānto yatra saṃśaya upakramo niścaye paryavasānam /
kacitāropyamāṇānāṃ bhinnāśrayatvena dṛśyate /
atrāropaviṣaye timire rāgādi tarvādibhinnāśrayatvenāropitam / kecittvadhyavasāyāśrayatvena saṃdehaprakāramāhuḥ / anye tu nuśabdasya saṃbhāvanādyotatvādutprekṣāprakāramimamācakṣate /

asamyagjñānatvasādharmyātsaṃdehānantaramasya lakṣaṇam / bhrāntiścittadharmaḥ / sa vidyate yasminbhaṇitiprakāre sa bhrāntimān / sādṛśyaprayuktā ca bhrāntirasya viṣayaḥ /
gāḍhamarmaprahārādinā tu bhrāntirnāsyālaṅkārasya viṣayaḥ /
sādṛśyahetukāpi bhrāntirvicchittyarthe kavipratibhotthāpitaiva gṛhyate,yathodāhṛtam, na svarasotthāpitā śuktikārajatavat / evaṃ sthāṇurvā syātpuruṣo vā syāditi saṃśaye 'pi boddhavyam /

yathā- 'yastapovanamit.i munibhiḥ kāmāyatanamiti veśyābhiḥ saṃgītaśāleti lāsakaiḥ' ityādi harṣacarite śrīkaṇṭhākhyajanapadavarṇane / atra hyeka eva śrīkaṇṭhākhyojanapadastattadguṇayogāttapovanādyanekarūpatayā nirūpitaḥ / ruccarthitvavyutpattayaśca prāyaśaḥ samastavyastā yojayituṃ śakyante / nanvetanmadhye 'vajravañjaramiti śaraṇāgatairasuravivaramiti vātikaiḥ' ityādau rūpakālaṅkārayoga iti kathamayamullekhālaṅkāraviṣayaḥ / satyam / asti tāvat 'tapovanam' ityādau rūpakavivikto 'sya viṣayaḥ / yatra vastutastadrūpatāyāḥ saṃbhavaḥ / yatra tu rūpakaṃ vyavasthitaṃ tatra cediyamapi bhaṅgiḥ saṃbhāvinī tatsaṃkaro 'stu / na tvetāvatāsyābhāvaḥ śakyate vaktum / tataśca na doṣaḥ kaścit / evaṃ hi tatra viṣaye bhrāntimadalaṅkāro 'stu atadrūpasya tadrūpatāpratītinibandhanatvāt / naitat / anaikadhāgrahaṇākhyasyāpūrvasyātiśayasyābhāvāt, taddhetukatvāccāsyālaṅkārasya / saṃkarapratītistvaṅgīkṛtaiva yadyevam, abhede bheda ityevaṃrūpātiśayoktiratrāstu /
evam 'garurvacasi pṛthururasi arjuno yaśasi' ityādāvavaseyam / iyāṃstu viśeṣaḥ-pūrvatra grahītṛbhedenānekadhātvollekhaḥ, iha tu viṣayabhedena / nanvanekadhātvollekhane gurvādirūpatayā śleṣa iti kathamalaṅkārāntaramatra sthāpyate / satyam / anekadhātvanimittaṃ tu vicchittyantaramatra dṛśyate iti tatpratibhotpattihetuḥ śleṣo 'tra syāt / na tu sarvathā tadabhāvaḥ / ataścālaṅkārāntaraṃ yadevaṃvidhe viṣaye śleṣābhāve 'pi vicchittisadbhāvaḥ / tasmādevamādāvullekha eva śreyān / evamalaṅkārāntaravicchittyāśrayeṇāpyayamalaṅkāro nidarśanīyaḥ /

vastvantarapratītirityeva prakrāntāpahnavavaidharmyeṇedamucyate / āropaprastāvādāropaviṣayāpahnutāvāropyamāṇapratītāvapahnutyākhyo 'laṃṅkāraḥ / tasya ca trayī bandhacchāyā, apahnavapūrvaka āropaḥ, āropapūrvako 'pahnavaḥ / chalādiśabdairasatyatvapratipādakairvāpahnavanirdeśaḥ / pūrvoktabhedadvaye vākyabhedaḥ / tṛtīyabhede tvekavākyatvam /
atra śūnya ityasya sthāne manyeśabdaprayoge sāpahnavotprekṣā ittayapi sthāpayiṣyate, ' ahaṃ tvinduṃ manye ' iti tu vākyabhede manyeśabdaprayogenotprekṣeti ca vakṣyate / etasminnapi bhedo 'pahnavāropayoḥ paurvāparyaprayogaviparyaye bhedadvayaṃ sadapi na pūrvavaccitratāvahamiti na bhedatvena gaṇitam / tatrāpahnuvapūrvake ārope nirantaramudāhṛtam /

evamabhedaprādhānye āropagarbhānalaṅkārāṃllakṣayitvā adhyavasāyagarbhāṃllukṣayati- tatra
viṣayanigaraṇenābhedapratipattirviṣayiṇo 'dhyavasāyaḥ /
sa ca dvividhaḥ - sādhyaḥ siddhaśca / sādhyo yatra viṣayiṇo 'satyatayā pratītiḥ / asatyatvaṃ ca viṣayigatasya dharmasya viṣaya upanibandhe viṣayisaṃbhāvitvena viṣayāsaṃbhāvitvena ca pratīteḥ / dharmo,guṇakriyārūpaḥ tasya saṃbhavāsaṃbhavapratītau saṃbhavāśrayasya tatrāparamārthatayā asatyatvaṃ pratīyate, itarasya tu paramārthatayā satyatvam / yasyāsatyatvaṃ, tasya satyatvapratītāvadhyavasāyaḥ sādhyaḥ / ataśca vyāpāraprādhānyam / siddho yatra viṣayiṇo vastuto 'satyasyāpi satyatāpratītiḥ / satvatvaṃ ca pūrvakasyāsatyatvanimittasyabhāvāt / ataścādhyavasitaprādhānyam / tatra sādhyatvapratītau vyāpāraprādhānye 'dhyavasāyaḥ saṃbhāvanamabhimānastarka ūhṛ utprekṣetyādiśabdairucyate / tadevamaprakṛtagataguṇakriyābhisaṃbandhādaprakṛtatvena prakṛtasya saṃbhāvanamutprekṣā / sā ca vācyā ivādibhiḥ pradarśyate / pratīyamānāyāṃ punarivādyaprayogaḥ / sā ca jātikriyāguṇadravyatāṇāmaprakṛtānāmadhyavaseyatvena caturthā / prakṛtasyaitadbhedayoge 'pi na vaicitryamiti na te gaṇitāḥ / pratyekaṃ ca bhāvābhāvābhimānarūpatayā dvaividhye 'ṣṭavivatvam / bhedāṣṭakasya ca pratyekaṃ nimittasya guṇākriyārūpatve ṣoḍaśa bhedāḥ / teṣāṃ ca pratyekaṃ nimittasyopādānānupādanābhyāṃ dvātriṃśatprabhedāḥ, teṣu ca pratyekaṃ hetusvarūpaphalotprekṣaṇarūpatvena ṣaṇṇavatirbhedāḥ / eṣā gatirvācyotprekṣāyā / tatrāpi dravyasya prāyaḥ svarūpotprekṣaṇameveti hetuphalotprekṣābhedāstataḥ pātanīyāḥ / pratīyamānāyāstu yadyapyuddeśata etāvantobhedāḥ, tathāpi nimittasyānupādānaṃ tasyāṃ na saṃbhavatīti tairbhedair yūno 'yaṃ prakāraḥ / ivādyanupādāne nimittasyata cākīrtane utprekṣaṇasya niṣpamāṇatvāt / prāyaśca svarūpotprakṣāyā yathāsaṃbhavaṃ bhedanirdeśa / eṣā cārthāśrayati dharmaviṣaye śliṣṭaśabdahetukā kvacitpadārthānvayavelāyāṃ sādṛśyābhivānādupakrāntāpyupamāvākyārthatātparyasāmarythābhimantṛvyāpāropārohakrameṇotprekṣāyāṃ paryavasyati / kvacicchalādiśabdaprayoge sāpahnavātprekṣā bhavati / ataścoktavakṣyamāṇaprakāravaicitryeṇānantyamasyāḥ /
sāprataṃ tviyaṃ diḍvrātreṇodāhniyate /
atrāṅkuraśabdasya jātiśabdatvājjātirutprekṣyate /

atra dukhaṃ guṇaḥ /

atra yadyapi 'sarvaprātipadikebhyaḥ kkip' ityupamānātkkibvidhāvāmukhe upamāpratītistathāpyupamānasya prakṛte saṃbhavaucityātsaṃbhāvanotthane utprekṣāyāṃ paryavasānam / yathā vā virahavaṇaṃne 'keyūrāyitamaṅgadaiḥ' ityādau / eṣāpi samastopamāpratīpādakaviṣaye 'pi harṣacaritavārtite sāhityamīmāṃsāyāṃ ca teṣu teṣu pradeśeṣudāhṛtā, iha tu granthavistarabhayānna prapañcitā /
atrevaśabdamāhātmyātsaṃbhāvanaṃ chalaśabdaprayogāccāpahnavo gamyate / evaṃ chadmādiśabdaprayoge 'pi jñeyam / 'apara iva pākaśāsanaḥ' ityādāvaparaśabdāprayoge upamaiveyam / tatprayoge tu prakṛtasya rājñaḥ pākaśāsanatvapratītāvadhyavasāyasaṃbhāvādivaśabdena ca tasya sādhyatvapratīterutprekṣaiveyam / ivaśabādāprayoge siddhatvādadhyavasāyasyātiśayoktiḥ / ivāparaśabdayoraprayoge tu rūpakam / tadevaṃ prakāravaicitryeṇāvasthitāyā utprekṣāyā hetūtprekṣāyāṃ yasya prakṛtasaṃbandhino dharmasya heturutprekṣate sa dharmo 'dhyavasāyavaśādabhinna utprekṣāyāṃ nimittatvenāśrīyate / sa ca vācya eva niyamena bhavati / anyathā kaṃ prati hetuḥ syāt / yathā-'apaśyantāvivānyonyam' ityādau / atra kapolayoḥ prakṛtayoḥ saṃbandhitvenopāttasya kṣāmatāgamanasya heturadarśanamutprekṣitam / hetuphalaṃ ca kṣāmatāgamanaṃ tatra nimittam / evam 'adṛśyata tvaccaraṇāravindaviśleṣaduḥkhādiva baddhamaunam'ityatra nūpuragatasya maunitvasya heturduḥkhitvam / tadutprekṣaṇe maunitvameva nimittaṃ jñeyam / evaṃ sarvatra /
svarūpotprekṣāyāṃ yatra dharmī dharmyantaragatatvenotpekṣyate tatrāpi nimittabhūto dharmaḥ kkacinnirdiśyate / yathā-'sa vaḥ pāyādunduḥ' ityādau / atra kuṭulatvādi nirdiṣṭameva / 'veleva rāgasāgarasya' ityādau saṃkṣobhakāritvādi gamyamānam / yatra ca dharma eva dharmigatatvenotprekṣyate tatrāpi nimittasyopādānānupādānābhyam /
atra bhūgatatvena bhayavihvalitatvākhyadharmotprekṣāyāṃ kampādinimittamupāttama / anupādāne yathā-'lipmatīva tamo 'ṅgāni' ityādau / atra tamotatatvena lepanakriyākartṛtvopekṣāyāṃ vyāpanādi nimittaṃ gamyamānam / vyāpanādau tūtprekṣāviṣaye nimittamanyadanveṣyaṃ syāt / na ca viṣayasya gamyamānatvaṃ yuktam / tasyotprekṣitādhāratvena prastutasyābhidhātumucitatvāt / tasmād yathoktameva sādhu /
phalotprekṣāyāṃ yadeva tasya kāraṇaṃ tadeva nimittam / tasyānupādāne kasya tatphalatvenoktaṃ syāt / tasmāttatra tasya nimittasyopādānameva na prakārāntaram /
atrāśvaparivartanasya phalasyottaradiggamanaṃ kāraṇameva nimittamupāttam /
tadasāvutprekṣāyāḥ kakṣyāvibhāgaḥ pracuratayā sthito 'pi lakṣye duravadhāratvādiha na prapañcitaḥ / tasyāścevādiśabdavanmanyeśabdo 'pi pratipādakaḥ / kiṃ tūtprekṣāsāmagrathabhāve manyeśabdaprayogo vitarkameva pratipādayati / yathodāhṛtaṃ prāk 'ahaṃ tvinduṃ manye tvadariviraha' ityādi /

atra hi pattralipikāyasthaśabdeṣu śleṣagarbhe rūpakaṃ dvirephamaṣīlavairityetadrūpakanimittam / asya ca pracuraḥ prayogaviṣaya iti na samāsoktibuddhiḥ kāryā /

atra nīrasaiḥ kaṇṭakibhiriti viśeṣaṇasāmyam / nirlūnānyalakānītyādiṣu kāryasamāropaḥ / vyavahārasamāropaprakāracatuṣṭaye krameṇodāharaṇam /
atra lāvaṇye laukike vastuni mīmāṃsāśāstraprasiddhavastusamāropaḥ / evaṃ tarkāyurvedajyotiḥśāstraprasiddhavastusamāropo boddhavyaḥ /
atra bharatādiśāstraprasiddhavastusamāropaḥ / tathā hyatra guṇagaṇagatatvena śṛṅgārādirasavyavahāraḥ pratīyate / yato raso na tātparyaśaktijñeyaḥ / nāpyanumānaviṣayaḥ / na śabdairabhidhāvyāpāreṇa vācyīkṛtaḥ / na lakṣaṇāgocaraḥ / kiṃ tu vigalitavedyānataratvena parihṛtapārimityo vyañjanalakṣaṇāpūrvavyāpāraviṣayīkṛto 'nukāryānukartṛgatatvapari hāreṇa sahṛdayagata iti prasarpattātparyairityādipadai rasa eva pratīyate / eva pratīyate / evamanyadapi jñeyam /
atrāgamaprasiddhe vastuni laukikavastuvyavahārasamāropa / laukikavastuvyavahāraśca rasādibhedād bahubheda ityuktaṃ prāk / tatra śuddhakāryasamārope kāryasya viśeṣaṇatvamaupacārikamāśritya viśeṣaṇasāmyāditi lakṣaṇaṃ pūrvaśāstrānusāreṇa vihitaṃ yathākathañcid yojyam /
ityatrāsti tāvad raviśaśinornāyakatvapratītiḥ / na cātra viśeṣaṇasāmyamiti sā kutastyā / prasādayantī sakalaṅkamindumiti viśeṣaṇasāmyāccharadonāyikātvapratītau tadunuguṇyāt tayoḥ samāsoktyā nāyakatvapratītiriti cet ārdranakhakṣatābhamaindraṃ dhanurdadhānetyetadviśeṣaṇaṃ kathaṃ sāmyena nirdriṣṭam / na caikadeśavivartinyupamoktā yatsāmarthyānnāyakatvapratītiḥ syāt / tatkathamatra dhyavasthā / atrocyate-ekadeśavivartinyupamā yadi pratipadaṃ noktā tat sā kena pratiṣiddhā / sāmānyalakṣaṇadvāreṇāyātāyāstasyā atrāpi saṃbhavāt / athātra nopamānatvena nāyakaḥ svasvarūpeṇa pratīyate apitu raviśaśinorevanāyakatvapratītiḥ / tayoratra nāyakatvāt / tadatrārdranakhakṣatābhamityatra sthitamapi śrutyopamānatvaṃ vastuparyālocanayā aindre dhanuṣi saṃcāraṇīyam, indracāpābhaṃ nakhakṣataṃ dadhāneti pratīteḥ, yathā 'dadhnā juhoti' ityādau dadhni saṃcaryate vidhiḥ / evamiyamupamānuprāṇitā samāsoktireva / iha punaḥ ityatra saraḥśriyāṃ nāyikātvapratītirna samāsoktyā, viśeṣaṇasāmyābhāvāt / tasmānnāyikātropamānatvena pratīyate na tu saraḥśrīdharmatvena nāyikātvapratītirityekadeśavivartinyupamaivābhyupagamyā,gatyantarāsaṃbhavāt / yaistunoktā teṣāmapyupasaṃkhyeyaiva / yatra tu 'keśapāśālivṛndena' ityādau samāsoktāyāmupamāyāṃ samāsantariṇa viśeṣaṇasāmyaṃ yojayituṃ śakyaṃ tatraupamyagarbhaviśeṣaṇaprabhāvitā samāsoktireveti na virodhaḥ kaścit /
sā ca samāroktirarthāntaranyāse kacitsamarthyagatatvena kacitsamarthakagatatvena ca bhavati /
atropagūḍhatvena śāntataḍitkaṭākṣatvena ca śaśāṅkaśaradornāyakavyavahārapratītau samāsoktyāliṅgita evārtho viśeṣarūpaḥ sāmānyāśrayeṇārthāntaranyāsena samarthyate / sāmānyasya cātra śleṣavaśādutthānam /
atra nirmokapaṭṭāpahnavena samāropitāyā mandākinyā yadvastuvṛttena pādamūle veṣṭanaṃ taccaraṇamūle veṣṭanatvena śleṣamūlayātiśayoktyādhyavasīyate / tat tathādhyavasitaṃ manthavyathāvyupaśamārthamivetyutprekṣāmutthāpayati / sotthāpyamānaivāmburāśimandākinyoḥ patipatnīvyavahārāśrayāṃ samāsoktiṃ garbhīkaroti / evaṃ cotprekṣāsamāsoktyorekaḥ kālaḥ / evaṃ 'nakhakṣatānīva vanasthalīnām' ityatrāpi vanasthalīnāṃ nāyikāvyavahāra utprekṣāntarānupraviṣṭasamāsoktimūla eva / evamiyaṃ samāsoktiranantaprapañcetyanayā diśā svayamutprekṣyā /

viśeṣaṇavaicitryaprastāvādasyeha nirdeśaḥ / viśeṣaṇānāṃ sābhiprāyatvaṃ pratīyamānārthagarbhīkāraḥ /
atra rājña ityādau sotprāsatvaparaṃ prasannagambhīrapadatvam / evam- 'aṅgāja senāpate rājavallabha droṇopahāsin karṇaṃ, sāṃprataṃ rakṣainaṃ bhīmād duḥśāsanam' ityādau jñeyam /

kevalaviśeṣasāmyaṃ samāsoktāvuktan / viśeṣyayuktaviśeṣaṇasāmyaṃ tvadhikṛtyedamucyate / tatra dvayoḥ prākaraṇikayoraprākaraṇikayoḥ prākaraṇikāprakaraṇikayor vā śliṣṭapadopanibandhe śleṣaḥ / tatrādyaṃ prakāradvayaṃ viśeṣaṇaviśeṣyasāmya eva tṛtīyastu prakāro viśeṣaṇasāmya eva bhavati / viśeṣyasāmye tvarthaprakaraṇādinā vācyārthaniyame 'rthāntaragatadhvanerviṣayaḥ syāt / ādye tu prakāradvaye dvayorapyarthayorvācyatvam / ata evātra - 'dvayorvopādāne' iti tṛtīyaprakāraviṣayatvenoktam / 'viśeṣyasyāpi sāmye' iti tu śiṣṭaprakāradvayaviṣayam /
atra hariharayorddhayorapi prākaraṇikatvam / padmānāṃ mṛgāṇāṃ copamānatvādaprākaraṇikatvarm / iśvaramanobhavayoḥ prākaraṇikāprākaraṇikatvam / evaṃ ca śabdārthobhayagatatvena vartamānatvāttrividhaḥ / tatrodāttādisvarabhedātprayantabhedācca śabdānyatve śabdaśleṣaḥ / yatra prāyeṇa padabhaṅgo bhavati / arthaśleṣastu yatra svarādibhedo nāsti / ata eva na tatra sabhaṅgapadatvam / saṃkalanayā tūbhayaśleṣaḥ /
atra raktacchadatvamityādāvarthaśleṣaḥ / nālamityādau śabdaśleṣaḥ / ubhayaghaṭanāyāmubhayaśleṣaḥ / granthagauravabhayāttu pṛthaṅnodāhṛtam /
